These were issued in three editions between 1742 and 1750.  The designs of Meissonnier had previously been published in printed sets or <i>cahiers</i> by Chereau the publisher, and were advertised in the <i>Mercure</i> in March 1734. \r\n \r\nThis plate is from a set - entitled ‘Onziéme livre des oeuvre de Mr. Messonier’ (series letter L) - depicting designs for a candelabra, girandoles, a frame for a toilet-glass and an inkstand. \r\n \r\nThe candelabra depicted in this plate was designed for King Louis XV of France.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Plate depicting a candelabrum design made for Louis XV.
