The architectural \r\ncommissions had dried up and his last building,\r\nthe Glasgow School of Art Library had received\r\nalmost no publicity. In 1916 he settled in London\r\nand apart from a few commissions from enlightened\r\nand tolerant patrons like J. W. Bassett-Lowke he\r\ndid little work apart from some textile designs\r\nfor the firms of Foxton's and Sefton's.
