He graduated with his first of several degrees in art in 1962 in his home state and his last at Slade School of Art in London in 1970-2. He classified himself as a Constructionist printmaker and worked across a range of techniques, exhibiting widely around the world including exhibitions in France, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, and Madagascar. Settling in Atlanta, Georgia in 1973, he was a noted teacher of printmaking at Clark College before spending three decades as a professor at Spelman College (1978-2009).
