The drawing was ascribed to Valérien Regnard. Mr W. Jeudwine pointed out the correct interpretation of the monogram and attributed the drawing to Vincenzo dal Re. Some drawings by the same artist formerly in the Edmond Fatio Collection are illustrated in an article on the collection by M. F.
