The two types of decorative flowers include one which sprouts trumpet-like petals from its centre and has an oval shaped body. Three shortened fluting shapes also come forth from the center of the flower which houses a smaller oval shape encompassing eight teardrop froms. The second decorative floral element could be a side-view of the aforementioned flower as the form incorporates the same elements, although from a different perspective. Overall, the composition is comprised of oranges, reds, and greens.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Bruce James Talbert","id":"A5720"},"association":{"text":"artist","id":"AAT25103"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"pencil","id":"x30347"},{"text":"watercolour","id":"AAT15045"}],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"","categories":[{"text":"Designs","id":"THES48968"},{"text":"Textiles","id":"THES48885"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2022NE7779"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLE","id":"THES49657"},"free":"","case":"Q","shelf":"9","box":"B1"}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"drawing","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Britain","id":"x32019"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"circa 1870s","earliest":"1865-01-01","latest":"1883-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"45.7","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"width","value":"35.1","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Design by Bruce James Talbert (45 of 49) for fabrics, wallpapers, and decorative borders etc. Scottish, mid 19th century.","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"MacDonald, Sally. “GOTHIC FORMS APPLIED TO FURNITURE: THE EARLY WORK OF BRUCE JAMES TALBERT.” Furniture History 23 (1987): 39–66."}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["9077:45"],"accessionNumberNum":"9077","accessionNumberPrefix":"","accessionYear":null,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-23","recordCreationDate":"2009-06-30","availableToBook":false}}
