It is an early British example of an abstract design in muted colours.\r\n\r\nFounded by Benjamin Warner, Warner & Sons was a leading firm of 19th and 20th century silk weavers and cotton printers. The firm was noted for high technical achievements and good design. It employed all the leading designers of furnishing fabrics. Its first workshops were in Spitalfields in the east end of London.
