She was a furniture and interior designer who sold French furnishings throughout the 1920s from her showroom in Sloane Street, London.\n\nFrom the late 1920s, textile designs were increasingly abstract and more muted in colour. We do not know who designed or made this piece but the composition is very similar to one by Süe et Mare called 'Sous Bois'. An example of 'Sous Bois' is the upholstery on a daybed in the V&A (Mus. no. W.18-1980).","physicalDescription":"Furnishing fabric of grey and green cotton damask with a grey rayon weft.
