All Four Gospels of the New Testament record the events associated with the Crucifixion of Christ shown here. While on the cross, Christ had commended the care of his mother to St John. Here St John the Evangelist is seen supporting the grieving Virgin Mary. Mary Magdalene is kneeling at the base of the cross. Beside her stands Joseph of Arimathaea, a rich, pious Jew who arranged the entombment of Christ.\r\n\r\nGerhard Remisch was a glass painter and head of a prolific workshop in the Rhineland in the period 1500-1600.","physicalDescription":"Stained glass panel depicting the Crucufixion.
