The borders are not original and were added later. \r\n\r\nThe story here is from the Gospel of St Luke and tells of Christ at the house of Zaccheus.  Zaccheus was a tax collector for the Imperial authorities in Jericho. He was a ruthless official and extremely unpopular with the local populace. When Christ came to Jericho, Zaccheus went out to hear his sermons. Christ announced to him that he would dine at his home that evening. During the meal Zaccheus renounced his profession and gave his wealth to the poor.\r\n\r\nBy about 1300 a new technique of decorating glass developed. This consisted of painting a compound of silver on the back of the glass which, after firing, turned yellow. Many panels from the period 1300-1500 are decorated simply in yellow (silver) stain and highlighted with a brown/black pigment.
