The design was executed for a production of Oliver Goldsmith's play \"She Stoops to Conquer\" performed by the Old Vic Company at the New Theatre on October 18th, 1949.  The cast included Michael Redgrave as Marlowe, Diana Churchill as Kate Hardcastle, and Angela Baddeley as Mrs Hardcastle.
