A woman betrays St. Peter by pointing to his house. A soldier knocks at its door while St. Peter prays on the roof and experiences a vision of Noah's arc. The design for the window frame is painted in black watercolour and cut out and superimposed onto the design for the stained glass itself. The design is mounted onto a small rectangular piece of card on the back of which is a slight sketch of perhaps a map or plans of buildings.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Burlison & Grylls","id":"A5876"},"association":{"text":"manufacturers","id":"AAT25230"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"watercolour","id":"x33202"},{"text":"wove paper","id":"AAT14187"},{"text":"pencil","id":"x30347"},{"text":"pen and ink","id":"x30618"}],"techniques":[{"text":"painting","id":"x30598"},{"text":"drawing","id":"x32498"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Pencil, pen and ink and watercolour on wove paper, mounted on card","categories":[{"text":"Designs","id":"THES48968"},{"text":"Stained Glass","id":"THES48891"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2014GY1160"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLD","id":"THES49658"},"free":"","case":"CG","shelf":"77","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Design for stained glass","id":"THES277590"}],[{"text":"Designs","id":"AAT102051"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"London","id":"x28980"},"association":{"text":"designed","id":"x29338"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1906","earliest":"1906-01-01","latest":"1906-12-31"},"association":{"text":"designed","id":"x29338"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by The Ashmolean Museum from the estate of the late Brian Miller","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"34.3","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"without mount","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"10.9","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"without mount","note":""},{"dimension":"Height","value":"39.5","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"mount","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"18.7","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"mount","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"'ink Church / window / to a foot'","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"Ink","method":"Handwriting","position":"Top left side","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"Textual information","note":"Textual information; Top left side; Handwriting; Ink"},{"content":"'1906 / * / x '","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"Ink","method":"Handwriting","position":"Top of the back of the mount.","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"Textual information","note":"Textual information; Top of the back of the mount.; Handwriting; Ink"}],"objectHistory":"This stained glass design, (one of 32) was in the collection of the late B.D.H.
