The pattern consists of elaborate border of broken and interlacing foliate scrolls with lace-like fillings down the centre and the longer sides.  In the four corners are sprays containing conventionalised pomegranates. The silk is woven with a series of broad and narrow blue bands along the ends of each length, two of which are sewn together to make the mantle.
