The facility with which she adapted topical life to this world proved her undoing for her drawings eventually appeared in comic strip form in the daily newspapers. The reduction of her original idea to a mere formula and the resultant slickness of drawing robbed her work of its earlier interest. But at their best the stories of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, Ragged Blossom and Little Obelia provide a uniquely Australian interpretation of the world of faery.
