During the 1930 when architectural commissions were scarce he made designs for Stevens & Williams glass (from 1932), Wedgwood ceramics ( from 1932-3) and Mappin & Webbb silver (from 1934).  This monumental vase was shown in the international exhibition, Paris, 1937.  This type of flat-cutting is associated in Britain with glass of the early 19th century.
