The following year, a lithograph by C G Lynch after a drawing by J H Lynch, of which the painting appears to be a copy, was published by William Spooner.  The painting shows the dancer in the same pose, the same building appears background right, but  the detailed depicition of the Scuola di San Marco in Venice which appears to left centre and the building at extreme left in the print is replaced in the painting, with a low bush to left background.    \r\nThe painting came to the Museum as part of the Cyril Beaumont Bequest.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Oil painting, after J H Lynch, depicting Marie Guy-Stephan dancing Las Boleras de Cadiz in L'Aurore, Her Majesty's Theatre, London, 1843","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Ashton, Geoffrey, Catalogue of Paintings at theTheatre Museum, London, edited by James Fowler, Victoria & Albert Museum in association with The Society for Theatre Research, London, 1992, cat. 36"},{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Beaumont, Cyril and Sitwell, Sacheverell, The Romantic Ballet in Lithographs of the Time, Faber and Faber, London, 1938, p130 No. 86, p264 plate 61"}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[{"text":"Guy-Stephan, Marie","id":"N1336"}],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["S.103-1986"],"accessionNumberNum":"103","accessionNumberPrefix":"S","accessionYear":1986,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-23","recordCreationDate":"2001-07-18","availableToBook":true}}
