This boxed set would have been used when eating fruit and nuts during dessert. In 1892 the silver and electroplate manufacturer James Dixon & Sons offered similar boxed sets at a cost of up to 60s.<br><br><b>People</b><br>Louis Beaver assembled this set for sale and probably commissioned the box, which bears his name and address. He is listed in a street directory of 1910 as a watch- and clockmaker and jeweller.
