The date of 1840 on the medal marks her sensational first London season - 'Never before had the London public taken a new ballerina so spontaneously to their hearts.' (Ivor Guest \"Fanny Cerrito\", Phoenix House Ltd, 1956, p29).  \r\nThe print came to the Museum as part of the Cyril Beaumont Bequest.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Fanny Cerrito, portrait.
