She studied medicine, philosophy and sinology at Hamburg University (1972-83). Since 1993, her work has been seen in many museum collections, exhibited at international shows and won several prestigious prizes, including the European Prize for Contemporary Art- and Design-led Crafts and the Award of the Justus Brinkmann Society, Hamburg, in 1998.\r\n\r\nBehn's work is hand-woven in linen in series, and ranges in size from wearable scarves to large-scale installations.
