These are comprised of the following titles, written by A. A. Milne, published by Methuen and illustrated by the artist.\n<i>When We Were Very Young\nWinnie-the-Pooh\nNow We are Six\nThe House at Pooh Corner</i>\nThey were initially lent by the artist to the museum for the travelling exhibition 'Winnie-the-Pooh' in 1969-70 and were afterwards given to the museum by Mrs Norah Shepard on behalf of her husband.  Also included in the gift were 25 proofs of illustrations, 9 letters and 4 manuscripts by the artist, A. A. Milne, and others.  At the same time Mrs Shepard gave a further 9 sheets of illustrations to works by A. A. Milne\r\n\r\n1928\r\n\r\nDrawings similar to these cover designs were also used as illustrations to Chapter IV of 'The House at Pooh Corner' in which Tigger and the excitable Roo climb up a tree and are unable to get down.
