This required the craftsman to apply the pigments in reverse order, starting with the highlights, outlines and fine details, and finishing with the broad areas of background colour. The paint is easily damaged as it was not fired onto the surface. It was therefore covered by a layer of varnish and mounted in a frame.","physicalDescription":"Glass panel with reverse painting in colours and in gold (verre églomisé); in black frame.
