McKnight Kauffer: The artist in advertising', published by Rizzoli Electa : Cooper Hewitt, 2020:\r\n\r\n'In 1929, the same year as Kauffer and [Marion] Dorn's exhibition, Curtis Moffat opened a studio on Fitzroy Square, built by Robert Adam in the 1790s; the space had a modern interior of white walls with aluminium and copper accents and steel furniture, all designed by the architect Frederick Etchells. Kauffer designed the invitation for the opening (fig7.6) and his and Dorn's rugs were sold in a room dedicated to floor coverings.  \r\nAs one of the first modern commercial interiors in London, Moffat's studio provided a significant context for Kauffer's work in both graphics and rugs. It also aligned him with Etchells through their shared contributions to the Omega Workshops, membership in Group X, and association with the vorticists.'"}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["E.3649-1983"],"accessionNumberNum":"3649","accessionNumberPrefix":"E","accessionYear":1983,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-10-07","recordCreationDate":"2009-06-30","availableToBook":false}}
