Involved in LGBTIQ+ rights from a young age, she was present at the May 68 demonstrations in Paris and joined the FHAR (Front homosexuel d'action révolutionnaire). She was directed by André Téchiné twice in her career and worked with Marguerite Duras in the theatre.
