It has been established that at least 19 were available in a distinct set much earlier, probably even before 1748. In the 1756 list of Piranesi’s work, there were 39 Views for sale.\n\nPiranesi’s sons Francesco and Pietro later republished the Views in two bound albums (First Paris edition, 1800-1807).\n\nThe copperplates are now in the Istituto Centrale per la Grafica, Rome.
