The vertical front and rear posts pass through the frame to form the legs. All arm/post and back rail/post joints are mitered, with the latter also being piinned vertically with circular wood pins. Under the arms and the back rail a three-piece, beaded-edge curvilinear aprin is carved in low relief with archaistic squared scrolling. Horizontal strechers connect the posts at the rear and sides, 3 cms above the seat frame. Those at the sides are supported on two short verticals and that at the rear of the three. \r\n\r\nThe seat frame tenons are exposed. Under the frame at the rear is a one-piece plain apron. Under the frame are at the sides are three-piece, beaded-edge cuvilinear aprons. The three-piece, beaded-edge curvilinear apron at the front is carved in low relief with interlinked floral scrolling. N.B.: on all aprons, the beading is achieved by cutting away the surface, which curves down to the base of the beading. This is claimed by Ellsworth as an time-saving feature.
