A basin of flowers stands on a shelf outside the single window.\r\nTECHNIQUE: Executed in a variety of the 'pingtuo' (Japanese 'togidashi') technique, where the inlaid eggshell and coloured lacquers are polished back to a level surface.\r\nARTIST: Qiao Shiguang (b. 1937) is the officially recognized doyen of Chinese lacquer painters, professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, from 1975 and President of the Chinese National Association of Lacquer Painters from 1990.
