This is a <i>yukata</i> (summer robe) fabric with the pattern of crysanthemums in blue against a white ground. Both paste and stencils were used in the dyeing process, creating a very detailed pattern with dots between the flowers resulting from the tiny gaps which remain free of paste when the two stencils are registered.
