The grip has a marked ridge-ring and is turned and engraved. The pommel is an oblong plate with pierced triangular ends which are turned up towards the top of the pommel; this is surmounted by a cone, four rows of jingles and a turned knob inlaid with brass. The guard is a rectangular plate turned down along each long side and curving up towards the grip and slightly recurved at the ends. The top of the seating process follows this curve with the remains of a pierced pattern at the end; it then runs out to a point, riveted to the blade, and has a pierced pattern and channels which probably held a brass inlay.
