The Company comprised Selma Alispahic; Clive Bell; Peter Collins; Bronagh Gallagher; Kulvinder Ghir; Antonio Gil-Martinez; Faroque Khan; Jeffery Kissoon; Simon McBurney; Tim McMullan; Clive Mendus; Maggie O'Brien; Michael Ormiston, Hélène Patarôt, Robert Patterson; Nicholas Robinson; Edward Savage; Juliet Stevenson and Joe Townsend.  The poster features a logo showing that the production was a funded by the Arts Council of Great Britain.  The performances at the Cambrisge Corn Exchange were part of the 1997 tour of the production which included the Summer Pops Arena, Liverpool, 26-28 June; Cambridge Corn Exchange, 2-5 July, The Plymouth Pavilions 8-10 July, and the Berliner Ensemble, 16-20 July. The production opened at the National Theatre, 21 April 1997.\n\nHistorical significance: This production opened at  the National Theatre, 21 April 1997 in the Olivier Theatre.\r\nBertolt Brecht (1898-1956) originally produced The Causasian Chalk Circle at the Berliner Ensemble, 7 October 1954, although he had finished it in 1944 during his years of exile in America.
