A silver chain, single for two-thirds of its length and double in the third nearest the horn runs from below the mouth-piece to the horn. It is enriched with a ball of coral and a repoussé Tamdin plaque. For Lamaist temple use. \n\nThe playing-tube has seven holes in front and one behind. Above, below and between the holes are eight silver-gilt repoussé rings inset with coral and turquoise. The top of the tube is ornamented with a parcel-gilt repoussé device of a flowering-plant inset with a piece of turquoise. The detachable mouthpiece has a medial knob of parcel-gilt filigree scrollwork, and a silver disc mouth-guard fastened to the playing tube by a silver chain. The richly ornamented horn is provided with a jewelled and gilt silver collar; at the point where the playing-tube slides into the horn, and on the front of it, are two jewelled flying phoenixes, the Cintamani or Wish-procuring Gem (Norbu), and eleven conventional flower-forms, all parcel-gilt and jewelled. The rim of the horn has a scalloped band of repeated triangular scrollwork devices mounted with turquoise, coral and lapis-lazuli, and gilt.
