The central figure has multiple arms bearing numerous implements. On the proper right, the five visible hands hold a drum (ḍamaru), an arrow, a sword, an elephant goad, and a conch; on the proper left, the five visible hands hold a skull staff, a noose, a bell, and a skull cup. Additional attributes include a yoga-band (yogapaṭṭa) worn around the knee of the central figure. The female figure makes the gesture of giving (varadamudrā) and a variation of the fear-not or teaching gestures (vitarka or abhayamudrā), formed with the ring finger touching the thumb. Both figures are seated atop their mounts, a bull and a lion. The sculpture is cast in copper alloy and is stylistically dateable to the 18th or 19th century.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"copper alloy","id":"AAT10942"}],"techniques":[{"text":"casting","id":"AAT53104"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"copper alloy, lost-wax cast","categories":[{"text":"Hinduism","id":"THES48941"},{"text":"Metalwork","id":"THES48920"},{"text":"Religion","id":"THES48900"},{"text":"Figures","id":"THES274372"},{"text":"Sculpture","id":"THES48896"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SSEA","id":"THES48598"},"images":["2020MU1478"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"003","id":"THES365231"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Figure","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Nepal","id":"x30053"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"18th/19th century","earliest":"1800-01-01","latest":"1899-12-31"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Mrs W.
