The emperor holds a flower, his other hand being on the hilt of his sword; he is shown in an oval like a European miniature. This is an example of the late Mughal school of Murshidabad showing some influence from European models without having become a fully-fledged example of Company painting. It is evidently from a set of emperor portraits, such as were ordered by both European and Indian patrons.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"C168"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"watercolour","id":"x33202"}],"techniques":[{"text":"painted","id":"x30138"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"watercolour with yellow ochre","categories":[{"text":"Indian Company Paintings","id":"THES49045"},{"text":"Paintings","id":"THES48917"}],"styles":[{"text":"Company","id":"AAT18959"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"SSEA","id":"THES48598"},"images":["2013GD6664","2013GD6685","2011EV9511"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"004","id":"THES403716"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Painting","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Murshidabad","id":"x32035"},"association":{"text":"painted","id":"x30138"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"ca. 1780","earliest":"1775-01-01","latest":"1784-12-31"},"association":{"text":"painted","id":"x30138"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"272","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"14/08/2013","earliest":"2013-08-14","latest":"2013-08-14"},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"164","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"14/08/2013","earliest":"2013-08-14","latest":"2013-08-14"},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Height","value":"257","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"14/08/2013","earliest":"2013-08-14","latest":"2013-08-14"},"part":"image within innermost painted borders","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"153","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"14/08/2013","earliest":"2013-08-14","latest":"2013-08-14"},"part":"image within innermost painted borders","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"14/08/2013 dimensions measured as part of the Indian Paintings Cataloguing Project 2013","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"1.
