No examples of his work are reproduced.  According to Goetz he was son of Raja Karen Singh's painters and was therefore painting from c. 1650.  A picture of a lady holding a parrot is attributed to Nathuram (Gray, Catalogue of Indian Miniatures from the collection of H.H. the Maharaja of Bikaner, No. 39- photo ISL 85-1950).  this picture bears the inscription 'arg.19' and nothing else, the grounds for attributing it to Nathuram are therefore not clear;  the style itself is quite different from that of the present picture.  There is a slight resemblance to two other pictures in the Bikaner Collection (ISL 65-1950, Gray Cat. No 19. and ISL 69-1950;  Gray Cat.
