","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"This painting was given to the V&A in 1980 by Doris Wiener, a dealer in Indian and South-East Asian art who began trading in the 1960s.\n\r\nNo provenance information was provided by Wiener for the painting.\n\r\nFollowing Doris Wiener’s death in 2011, her daughter Nancy Wiener, who was also a dealer in Asian art and inherited her mother’s collection, was arrested and pleaded guilty to conspiring in the international smuggling and trafficking of looted objects.
