The Fugger of Augsburg was one of the most wealthy and influential families in the region, having made their money as merchants and bankers. One of their descendants ordered a substantial glass dinner service in Venetian style, each piece prominently enamelled with the Fugger coat of arms. This serving dish is one of the rare survivals from that set.","physicalDescription":"The coat of arms is that of Fugger of Suabia.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"glass","id":"AAT10797"}],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Glass, enamelled and gilt","categories":[{"text":"ELISE","id":"THES48961"},{"text":"Glass","id":"THES48946"},{"text":"Eating","id":"THES48963"},{"text":"Food vessels & Tableware","id":"THES48952"}],"styles":[{"text":"EUROPE","id":"AAT20656"},{"text":"FACON DE VENISE","id":"x29296"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"CER","id":"THES48594"},"images":["2013GP4789","2013GP5797","2006AN6381","2017JW4690","2017JW4694"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"131","id":"THES49882"},"free":"","case":"10","shelf":"3","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Tazza","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Hall-in-Tyrol","id":"x28899"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":"possibly"}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1560-1580","earliest":"1560-01-01","latest":"1580-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Wilfred Buckley Collection","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"21.0","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"conversion size only","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Possibly from the Emile Gavet coll.
