With a wry sense of humour, he imparts tales of everyday encounters with his own very distinctive voice.  Here, he imagines an absurdist garden in which humble carrots grow side-by-side with exotic but inedible cacti.  The carrots are represented not as actual vegetables, but as a picture printed on a packet of seeds.
