The razor consists of three detachable parts:\n(1) a stem of mild pressed steel with a bulbous end, textured central panel, and head with a threaded recess\n(2) an oblong slotted blade guard of brown bakelite\n(3) a curved head of mild pressed steel with a threaded stem at the back which fastens to (1) with (2) between them.\n\nThe original oblong box (4) is of tin, with a hinged lid: the lid and base are lined with printed cards (5,6) giving information about the product. The exterior of the tin is printed in purple, white, eau-de-nil and gold: the lid has a silhouette of a woman's head framed in a wreath of laurel leaves, and the words \"The Laurel LADIES BOUDOIR SAFETY RAZOR  MADE IN ENGLAND\" with the slogan \"THE SAFEST OF SAFETY RAZORS\" along the edge; the word \"Laurel\" at the ends, and vignettes of a dressing-table along the sides.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"George H.
