The upper part of the stand is a rectangular frame for\n the ceramic top (3), with four metal clips to hold it in place and a\n towel-rail of turned wood at each side.\n 2. removable drawer of stained wood, with a recessed base and a handle\n of turned wood.\n 3. rectangular clip-on top, of glazed cream earthenware with a bow\n front and a raised ledge along the sides & back, and an oval hole at\n the centre to take the basin (4).  The edges are decorated with a fine\n cable pattern in tan, and the top with transfer printed motifs of\n children: riding in panniers on a donkey with a young woman in\n regional costume, walking with a lamb, watching fishing boats, minding\n geese, seated at a writing table with a cat, and face to face with a\n goose.\n 4. oval basin, of glazed cream earthenware, with a recessed base, and\n a central inner partition rising to a cut-out handle.
