They were called <i>giardinetti</i> rings, meaning ‘little garden’.  This example, using only emeralds, comes from San Sebastian in Spain.  ","physicalDescription":"Gold ring with a flat shank ending in split shoulders.  The bezel is shaped like a spray of flowers and is set with 12 emeralds in closed mounts.  The back of the largest flower is hatched in the centre.  The space on each shoulder is covered with a small sprig.
