A selftaught designer, Mr Moke began producing his own shoes in the late 1970s. He was known for outlandish, witty statements based on cleverly mixing contrasting materials, finishes and decorative devices. During the 1980s his work became more romantic, fanciful and allusive. He has designed individual collections for Adeline Andre, Anthony Price, Arabella Pollen, Alistair Blair and Georgina Godley.\r\n\r\nJohnny Moke is always reinventing the heel. His Golden Ball slingback in fuchsia satin with sculpted golden heel is from his latest summer collection for 1990. Working within a classic framework to which he brings strong architectural form, he has created a shoe with refined elegance and exquisite unlaboured proportions.\r\n\r\nGiven by Johnny Moke\r\nT.213 to a-1990","date":{"text":"1990","earliest":"1990-01-01","latest":"1990-12-31"}}],"partNumbers":["T.213-1990","T.213A-1990"],"accessionNumberNum":"213","accessionNumberPrefix":"T","accessionYear":1990,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE","Shoe [1]","Shoe [2]"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-10-08","recordCreationDate":"2009-06-24","availableToBook":true}}
