The pattern consists of large leaves, depicted in couched knotting, scrolling symmetrically away from a large needle lace motif in the centre. The remainder of the ground is filled with further smaller applied needle lace motifs and knotting. A border is picked out towards the lower edge. The needle lace and knotting are both of silk. The ground appears to be a woven silk and linen mixture.
