Starting with a plain striped silk, she created the subtle graduations in colour and pattern by clip-dyeing and resist-dyeing (certain areas of the material were clamped to resist the dye). The buttons were specially made from oxidised brass beads.\r\n\r\nOne of an edition of four 'Florentine' dresses.
