It was selected by Madeleine Ginsberg, curator of fashion, to become part of the collection of the museum in 1970. According to the designer, the coat is best seen in movement when it the silver cross gently flows and billows as the wearer moves.  It represents the English cross riding before the army towards Jerusalem.\n\nTrisha Kerr-Cross (b.1949) was born in Harleston, Norfolk. She gained a scholarship to Parson's School of Design, New York, where she spent three years.
