The dress has a 'V' neck with the diagonal running into the button fastening at the side front of the bodice, running down to the hem. The dress is sleeveless and has a natural waist. The tucks, hand stitched, run diagonally on the bodice and have a slight downwards movement on the skirt, covering the entire dress. The buttons are circular and made of black composition with a plain moulding. There are sleeve bands and a button stand.\nThe dress is entirely backed with fine, black silk. There is an inner lining of black taffeta stitched into the bodice and forming the back of a loose lining in the skirt, the front of which is black crêpe. The lining fastens from waist to hip with a metal and linen zip. There are 3 sets of hooks at the waist and 4 loops for hanging. The Dior label is stitched under the left arm. Hunt was a client of several Parisian couture houses including Christian Dior.
