Sleeveless boat-necked dress with a low waist slightly pouched at the front. Gathered to the waist is a long skirt with one side seam. The skirt's hem is brocaded with a broad band of chevrons and interlocking conical motifs in mid-blue angora wool. Ruth Vaughan Lodge's monogram is woven into the centre back of this band. The lining is pale bronze silk and chiffon. The back has a rather crudely embroidered yellow silk label 'Calimala, London' on cream satin.
