It is embroidered with coloured silks in chain and darning stitches, and the darning is worked in two or more colours in a variety of twill and chevron patterns, with the exception of two motifs which are worked with linen thread in tabby darning.\n\nIn the centre is a rose and four small sprigs outlined in chain stitch and worked in shaded darning.
