His display of glass and furniture there is regarded as the greatest moment in his career and also the apogée of the Art Nouveau movement, in which he was the leading master.  This bowl imitates the appearance of water lilies floating on mossy, reflecting waters.  The flowers are applied and separately carved while the bowl's surface is spirally fluted.  The glass type, known as 'dichroic' changes appearance and mood depending on different lighting angles, an effect created by the inclusion of minute gold particles. The Museum spent £111/18.6 on glass at the Paris 1900 exhibition.  This bowl cost £19/18/7","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null}}],"partNumbers":["1624-1900"],"accessionNumberNum":"1624","accessionNumberPrefix":"","accessionYear":1900,"otherNumbers":[{"type":{"text":"Glass gallery number","id":"THES50491"},"number":"9445"}],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-07","recordCreationDate":"1997-12-13","availableToBook":false}}
