The fitted sleeves feature bows of black velvet ribbon at the elbow, ruffles of machine-made lace and matching buttons. The bodice is boned, lined with plain silk and features a waist tape with the retailer's name 'Derry & Toms costumes, Kensington High Street'. It fastens at the front with hook and eyes. The skirt has vertical pin tucks over each hips and vertical applique decoration of floral bouquets and black velvet ribbon, finishing three-quarters of the way down in long bows. The skirt has a deep flounce of machine-made lace.
