The central front panel is triangular and cut on the cross. The back and hip panels are also cut on the cross and there are two wedge-shaped gores at the hips. There is a central wooden busk covered in chamois, a bone at each side of the bust, and two more short ones inside the bust pads. There is a space for the insertion of wider bones at the back, and for two narrow ones where the corset laces at the centre back. There is a cord threaded through the top to adjust the fit.
