The curtain is embroidered in monochrome wool of a pinkish red.\r\nThe main pattern over the whole field of the curtain is a continuous scrolling design descended from the characteristic Elizabethan design, with the centre of each scroll ending in a pair of flowers. The scroll and the flowers are typically Stuart in character, both in drawing and execution. \r\nAt the bottom is a narrow border of a row of cusped niches, each containing a palmate ornament.
