The purchase price included both E.372-1992 and E.373-1992.","historicalContext":"This drawing is an outline sketch for an oil painting, entitled `Water meadows near Salisbury'.  It is now in the Victoria and Albert Museum, museum number FA 38. This painting was put before the Hanging Committee of the Royal Academy in 1830 without the members knowing whom the artist was. Constable was part of that committee and to his horror it was rejected by the others, one of them describing it as `a nasty green thing.'
